CEROL PC7 CEROL PC7 is an anionic hydrorepellent agent for water emulsion paints and textured coatings. It highly improves the impermeability and resistance of the paint to atmospheric agents without modifying the transpiration of the coating. CEROL PC7 can be easily diluted in water. High dilutions in very hard water are not recommended. CEROL PC7 forms at the finishing surface a thin layer, which, after drying, shows an excellent hydrorepellence, without modifying the transpiration of the coating. The result is much better resistance to water, and lower atmospheric dust adhesion, thus improving the film appearance and durability. DOSAGE Excellent results can be obtained by using 0.5 – 1% of CEROL PC7 on the total weight of plaster. For outdoor emulsion paints the dosage must be increased to 3-4% particularly when extenders with water repellent properties are not present in the formulae. PACKAGING CEROL PC7 is delivered in I.B.C. containers of 850kg or in sealed plastic drums of 100kg net.   BUTAROL KA BUTAROL KA is a coalescent agent particularly effective in protecting latex paints against failure caused by application under adverse conditions such as high humidity and low temperature. BUTAROL KA has very low water solubility and it is particularly suitable in flash-dry printing inks and as coalescing agent in PVA latex. It is a viscosity regulator for PVC pastes since it lowers the initial viscosity and flattens the viscosity/temperature curve. A hardened PVC paste can be returned to the right consistency with a small addition of BUTAROL KA. AEROL C45 is used for the slurrying of pigments and extenders such as china clay, titanium dioxide, whiting agents, blanc fix, precipitated calcium carbonate, talc, ferrous oxides etc. These dipersions are suitable for addition to a variety of emulsion paints based PVAc, Styrene-Acrylic, Styrene-butadiene rubber and pure acrylic polymers. The best dispersion conditions combined with the highest solid content during the dispersion stage are achieved by adding AEROL C45 before pigments and extenders. AEROL C45 is much more efficient than conventional dispersing agents. The normal dosage varies in the range of 0.1-0.3% calculated on total pigments-extenders weight. AEROL C45 is effective over a pH range of 5.5-14 and has a good stability to water hardness and a complete hydrolysis resistance under warm or alkaline conditions. Non-compatible with anionic products and under alkaline conditions. RECOMMENDATIONS OF USE The big advantage of FIXAROL TG Conc. is that product is absolutely formaldehyde-free. Quantities of use depend on dye to fix, on dyeing strenght and, for applications by exhaustion, on bath ratio. Generally speaking, by exhaustion application of direct and direct light dyes, quantities between 0.6 and 3.5% (max. 3% for reactive dyes) are recommended, at pH 6-7 by acetic acid, for 20 to 25 minutes, at 40°C. By foulard quantities of use vary between 10 and 40 g/l for direct and direct light dyes, between 8 and 35 g/l for reactive dyes. In no case rinses should follow. DISCHARGING METHOD FIXAROL TG Conc. can be discharged from the treated materials to allow a new treatment of defective dyeings. Product dispersion The dispersion of PRINTAROL® THV in water or polar solvents has to be made by slow addition to avoid the formation of lumps. Also, turbulent agitation should be avoided to prevent the trapping of air. The dispersion of PRINTAROL ® THV in solvents can be done without difficulties with free flowing dispersions being obtained with levels up to 30% of PRINTAROL® THV. Neutralisation As already stated, the thickening effect is obtained after neutralisation of the polymer. Neutralising agents, suitable for this purpose, are : hydroxides of alkaline metals, ammonium hydroxide and amines. Inorganic polyvalent bases, such as calcium hydroxide, are to be avoided because a ionic crosslinking can occur thus causing precipitation. Neutralisation (at pH=7) of one (1) gram of PRINTAROL® THV requires 0.4 grams of NaOH (100%). When amines or ammonium hydroxide are used, stechiometric equivalents have to be used. The equivalent weight of PRINTAROL® THV is about 76. (Figure 1 shows viscosity against polymer concentrations) Action of electrolytes The presence of water soluble salts in solution of PRINTAROL® THV causes a viscosity drop. Salts of bi, or tri-valent metals cause a marked drop in viscosity. (Figure 2 shows viscosity drop at higher concentration of sodium chloride). Applications PRINTAROL® THV is a basic ingredient for the formulation of clears concentrates, used as thickening agents for the printing of fabrics. PRINTAROL® THV is successfully used for the formulation of clears concentrates with a dry polymer content ranging from about 15 to 35%. ENZYROL PS gives high contrast with low backstaining and performs on a broad pH and temperature range. It also allows having different degrees of abrasion and has low fabric strenght loss. CHARACTERISTICS Aspect : powder pH 1% sol. : 6-7 PROCESS Garments preparation: Before using ENZYROL PS, prepare the denim garments by desizing. Desizing is the process of using alpha amylase enzymes to remove the starch from the fabric. That prepares the garments for ENZYROL PS action. It also relaxes the fabric which helps prevent streaks from occurring during tumbling. DESIZING Liquor ratio: 5/1 - 10/1   the liquor ratio of wash water (measured in liters) to Denim (measured in kg) Temperature: 60°C-65°C Add alpha-amylase 4.5 g/l or 3% on the garment weight. Tumble for 10-20 minutes. Extract the liquor and rinse with cold water. STONE WASH It is very important to proceed as follows: 1-2 kg of pumice stone for 1 kg of garments Set the liquor temperature at 55°-60°C Check the pH (ENZYROL PS is buffered 6.5-7.5) Suggested dose of ENZYROL PS : 5-25 g for 1 kg garments. Treatment time: minimum 30 minutes, maximum 90 minutes, depending on the required effect. Extract the water and take the pumice-stone out. Alkaline rinsing: 2 g/l sodium carbonate   2 g/l nonionic detergent   for 15-20 minutes at 65°-70°C We recommend the alkaline rinsing because this will not only deactivate the enzyme (pH 9 - 9.5), but will also remove residual indigo.
